Often referred to as a mini version of the Bungle Bungle range, Mirima (Hidden Valley) National Park, just north of Kununurra offers bush walking and stunning views over the Kimberley.
The park is a significant place for the local Aboriginal Miriuwung people, who have lived in the area for thousands of years.
Hike through the area and you’re likely to come across Aboriginal rock paintings, engravings and artifacts.
The secluded valley harbours rugged cliffs, gullies and ridges which transform in colour to deep orange at dawn and dusk.
The park is home to a large variety of wildlife including many species of birds, all manner of reptiles, Wallabies, Bats, Dingoes and Echidnas.
You can see stunning views over Kununurra and the surrounding areas from a number of vantage points - bush walking trails take you to the best spots, however these are not signposted.
There’s no camping allowed in Mirima National Park but there’s plenty of accommodation available in Kununurra which is just 5 minutes drive away.
A Western Australian National Park Pass is required for vehicles entering the park.
